Our Lady of Fatima Welcomes New Principal

Our Lady of Fatima School in Wilton is pleased to welcome Mr. Joseph Carmen as their new school principal.  Mr. Carmen is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received his bachelor’s degree.  He then received his Masters degree in Science Education from Southern Connecticut State University.

Mr. Carmen served a captain in the United States Army.  He was employed as a site leader for General Electric.  Most recently, Mr. Carmen was a teacher leader in the Bridgeport Public Schools where he led efforts in school reform and instructional improvement.  He was the recipient of the 2007 Beard Excellence in Teaching Award, one of the largest teaching awards in the nation, for this work in the Bridgeport Public Schools.

“I am delighted to be joining such a fine school.  Excellence in education and preparing children to be successful in life has always been my passion.  The vibrant school community at OLF of students, parents, teachers and staff is one that promises great happenings in the future.”

Serving children from pre-school through grade 8, Our Lady of Fatima School in Wilton is a place where every student can grow and be challenged.  With small class sizes coupled with state of the art technology, OLF provides a structured environment where students flourish and reach their full potential.  OLF has a full-day kindergarten as well as after school programs.  It offers all of what Fairfield County residents expect from a school - excellent academics, fine arts, and extra-curricular programs.
